NaNoWriMo starts in 3, 2, 1…

GOOOO!

Here we are! NaNoWriMo starts today and I am exicted, scared, anxious, happy, eager. Quite a mix of different emotions!

I am exicted, happy and eager because the story I decided to write for my first NaNoWriMo is something that has been turning in my head for a long time and I can’t wait to beging. I am also scared and anxious because I want to do it right but I fear lack of time, my innate procrastination tendency and writer block. I suspect I’ll need a lot of encouragement from my writing buddies!

Before I decided to sign up for NaNo, even before I started thinking about it, my boyfriend Andrea and I decided to have a few days of holidays from November the 1th (today) to November the 5th, so I will miss the exact beginning but don’t fear! I have my notebooks and my pens with me. I’m going to have a two hours travel by train both on our way there and on the way back and I’ll probably write in the evenings.

I can’t wait to begin writing but I am also exicted for these few days away. We are going to Florence in Tuscany. If you’ve never been there, believe me: it’s worth a visit once in a lifetime. I’ve been there twice during school trips but this time I’ll be at leisure to go around and truly breath the city’s atmosphere.

I think this short trip will be good for my writing too, because I really need a break. I graduated in April, then I started searching for a job. I interrupted my research to study for the State Exam, that was in late June. This summer I worked in a factory for two months, just when Andrea had his holidays. So we hadn’t a proper holiday since 2012.

Stop talking about me! What about you? How do you feel about this NaNoWriMo? What are your plans for this month? And if you’re not doing NaNo, what do you think about these crazy writers that want to write a novel in just one month?

Thank you for reading!
