How I’ve been wandering in time
drum roll …..and TA-DAAAAA!
I’m back! Did you miss me?
I know how it seems. “She says she is a writer, but then never writes a damn thing,” you may say. Today I’m here to prove you wrong. This wonderful work of art is the cover of Quantum Wanderlust, an amazing collection of short stories on time travel. I’m proud to announce my short story Children in Time is going to be part of this book!
Time travel is a subject that holds endless possibilities for a writer and I was honoured to have the chance to measure with such a challenge.
But how to convey the complex facets of time travel with a short story? How to condense the possibilities in a few thousand words?
This opportunity taught me a lot of things about cutting down the fluff to bare the essence of a story, showing the nature and past of characters without long chapters of backstory, and choosing scenes and settings carefully.
Soon you’ll be able to see my story for yourself. Quantum Wanderlust is due for the end of September. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with the original cover reveal post.
I’d love to hear what you think. Do you like time travel stories? What’s your favourite? Share in the comments!
