What makes you fill content at the end of the day?
For me it’s about being busy. When I have a lot of different things to do and I manage to get through a lot of them I feel satisfied. It doesn’t matter if some of the things I have to do are trivial, such as doing the housekeeping or cooking dinner, the point is achieve a result.
I just had a most fulfilling week!
I wrote a blog post, cooked a special dinner for my mother’s birthday, delivered a decent amount of CVs, attended the first lesson of an Argentinian Tango course, wrote down the personal histories of the main characters of my NaNoWriMo project, attended a two-days chemistry convention about health and beauty and took the exam for First Certificate English examination.
Probably if my weeks were like this all the time, I would be wore out in a short time. However once in a while it’s good to be busy like that because it makes me feel that I’m not wasting my time and I’m not procrastinating.
This doesn’t mean that I always achieve good results or that I’m sure that I did everything at my best. For instance, my characters needs a lot more work to be ready for NaNo, the English exam was harder than expected so I’m not sure I’m going to pass (results on 22th November, keep fingers crossed) and I have another pile of CVs to deliver. However I feel happy about everything I did because I tried.
There’s another aspect that always strikes me any time I have a week like this: time seems to pass both slower and faster than usually. When I’m in the middle of it, it always seems that I haven’t enough time to do everything I am supposed to do, but when I look back I think “wow, I really did it all in just seven days?”.
This week will be a bit less busy than the last one, but not much. I still have a lot to do about the NaNoWriMo project and I’m going to begin a new job as chemistry tutor, something to make up my wage while I wait for something more substantial.
And what about you? Did you have a fulfilling week? What makes you feel content?
Thank you for reading this post, let me know what you think!
