Whatever you are going through, you are not alone!
Who was that guy who was doomed to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down? Oh yes, Sysiphus. Have you ever felt like that? As if you struggle and struggle without gaining nothing?
I have.
And it’s awful. For as much as you commit yourself, as much as you plan and schedule, as much as you fight your inner enemy… everything seems useless. Moreover you feel terribly alone, because there are a lot of people around you that are doing amazing things while you seem uncapable of reaching a goal without an exertion of titanic proportions.
There are two things to do.
First: stop comparing yourself with others. You don’t really know their situation nor what they got through to be where they are. Each path is different and requires different timing.
Second: look around you and search for people who are doing the same. Whatever your passion, your goal or your objective you are not alone. I’m sure there are a lot of people around the world that are attempting what you are attempting, that are facing the same struggles and nowadays you can reach them through the Internet without even leaving your house.
Search for those people, talk with them, share your doubts, ask for advice and tell them your experience. You may be afraid that people will judge you at first but, in my experience, it’s more likely that you find kind and helpful people than arrogant critics. Untill you try, you can’t imagine how liberating, reassuring and encouraging this is.
If you search for others of your kind, you could find the help and support you need. You will meet people that are getting through your same stage, people that have already gone further and you may even discover you can be helpful to those who are at an earlier stage of the quest.
So… what are you waiting for? Go! Find some “struggle friends”!
